Manhattan was a different world in the late 90s — companies were popping up in warehouses and lofts all over town, populated by twenty-somethings who were recreating office culture, handing out titles and big salaries to those hoping to stake their claim in a new revolution: the Internet. “Silicon Alley” sprang up almost overnight, boasting offices filled with futons, ping pong tables, kegerators, full-sized arcade games, and employees who defined new ways of working and new business models.
Natalie Pepper and her friends were lucky enough to land their first jobs in the upswing of the dot-come bubble, and Girlfriends of Gotham is a series about that ride. Over-the-top parties hosted by companies spending their venture capitalists’ money on open bars became a breeding ground for hookups, one-night stands and even true love.
Join Natalie and the girls in the first installment of the series: Men and Martinis, publishing December 2013 with Swoon Romance!
