A Rare Vintage is on sale!

Hi guys! In all the excitement about Redemption Red (or is that only in my head?) I don’t want to forget to let you know that now is a great time to check out A Rare Vintage. The first Wine Country Romance, which is set in Paso Robles, California, is on sale this week for only 99 cents!

If you haven’t had a chance to read about Isabella DaSilva and Jonathan Sauvage’s steamy romance (complete with a rather smexy scene in the barn… ahem…) now is the time. This book also focuses around some of my favorite varietals – the Rhone Valley wines. The couple are working together to recreate one of the most storied (and tasty!) wines of all time (in my opinion) — Chateauneuf du Pape. If you haven’t tasted this wine, which my husband affectionately refers to as “the POP”… you definitely should. It’s kinda spendy, so if you’re looking for a less pricey alternative, a Cote du Rhone is a great match for sipping while reading your copy of A Rare Vintage. (Plus, when the book is only 99 cents, that leaves you a few more dollars to spend on wine! It’s a win win!)

Meet Author Michelle Lynn: Love Me Back

Today I’m thrilled to host an amazing author and help promote her new book! Check out the awesome cover…

Author Michelle Lynn was kind enough to answer some of my questions.

  • What part of the country do you live in?  From what part do you originate?
I am a Midwest girl through and through.  I have lived in Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and Illinois and some of those places more than once.
  • Do you have siblings?  Where do you fall in the pecking order?
Yes, I am the youngest of three with an older brother and sister.  Surprisingly, sometimes I feel like the oldest instead of the youngest.
  • When did you begin writing?
I remember thinking stories in my head in junior high.  Jotting down some poetry as well.  Wish I could find those binders now.
  •  Favorite Jelly Belly? (this is an important question, people!)
Watermelon.  I always search for those green beans with the red centers.
  •  Do you resemble any of the characters you develop?
Not really.  I am struggling with the book I am currently writing.  My main character is very secretive and holds back her feelings, whereas, I am an open book and never fail to express myself, just ask my husband.
  •  Would the story of how you fell in love with your significant other make for a great book?
Not to sound self-absorbed, but I do (not that I would write it).  We had a lot of elements that make a great story.  Forbidden work place romance, disapproval of family, still finding ourselves and best of all a HEA.
  •  What was the last book you finished?
Allure by Nina Lane.  Loved it!
  • What surprised you about the publishing process?
The bloggers and groups in social media astonished me.  I am an avid reader and I never searched it out.  Shame on me, I’m sure I missed out on some great discussions over books I love.
  •  Are there characters that stayed with you after you finished the book?
Funny you ask.  Just this morning a thought crossed my mind about Kellan and Kiera from Reckless.  (Not sure why?) If I experience a similarity to the book, the characters can come right back to my mind.  I love it when that happens. Sometimes I am driving and a song will come on that I listened to while reading a book and my mind will drift back to the characters, making me smile.
  •  Give us a couple lines from your WIP:

“You are mine…always.”  His lips crush into mine and the warmth spreads through my body.  His hand moves from my cheek to my neck pulling me closer, keeping me firmly against his lips.  He licks my bottom lip asking me for permission to open and, knowing that the words he just spoke are true, I oblige.  His tongue meets mine and they dance together like they always have.

Love Me Back is available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble, and is available at Smashwords!

About Michelle Lynn:

michellelynMichelle moved around most of her life before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids.  She developed a love for reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion of writing.   With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that float around in her head.  She enjoys writing and developing the characters she hopes you fall in love with, as much as she has.  When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to her mom on the phone, or hanging out with her family and friends.

Cover Reveal: Jennifer McConnel’s Daughter of Chaos

Nothing is more terrifying than the witch who wields red magic.

DOC cover

Witches must choose the path they will follow, and Darlena Agara is no exception. She’s been putting it off long enough, and in her case, ignoring it has not made it go away. In a moment of frustration, Darlena chooses to follow Red Magic, figuring she had outsmarted the powers that be, since there’s no such thing as Red Magic. But alas, Darlena’s wrong (again) and she becomes a newly declared Red Witch.

Her friends are shocked and her parents horrified by the choice Darlena has made. As a Red Witch, she now governs one third of the world’s chaos. She is the walking personification of pandemonium, turmoil, and bedlam, just as the patrons of Red Magic would have it to be.

But Darlena believes there must be more to Red Magic than chaos and destruction, and she sets out on a journey to achieve balance. Only doing so puts her at odds with the dark goddess Hecate, who simply will not allow Darlena to quit. She encourages Darlena to embrace who and what she is and to leave good magic to the good witches. If only Darlena could, life would be simple, and she would not be the Daughter of Chaos.

DAUGHTER OF CHAOS is the first in a YA paranormal trilogy. Coming March 2014 from Month9Books.

Jen McConnel first began writing poetry as a child. Since then, her words have appeared in a variety of magazines and journals, including Sagewoman, PanGaia, and The Storyteller (where she won the people’s choice 3rd place award for her poem, “Luna”).
She is also a former reviewer for Voices of Youth Advocates (VOYA), and proud member of SCBWI, NCWN, and SCWW.
A Michigander by birth, she now lives and writes in the beautiful state of North Carolina. When she isn’t crafting worlds of fiction, she teaches writing composition at a community college. Once upon a time, she was a middle school teacher, a librarian, and a bookseller, but those are stories for another time.
